Assignment #20: Wrapped Object:

Image
Some Ideas: A person wrapped in one color and placed in a contrasting color, for example, my friend has a room that has a red color scheme and a red leather chair. My idea would be to wrap her in a blue, pale blue, gauze on the harsh brick red chair. To make the image more unique I plan on wrapping her body closely and having her hold a cup of coffee while wearing jewelry, making it so only her   body  is wrapped.  If this idea doesn't work, I am still intrigued with the idea of contrasting colors. I would get a cheap chair, I would have to buy for this project, and I would wrap it in a red gauze using a purple ribbon. I plan on taking this to a beach and placing it in the blue water. Another idea, similar to the idea of using  or placing a wrapped object in a normal scene as with the person. I was thinking of wrapping a phone with brown paper with twine and stamping the word "Fragile" on it. And having a person pose with the phone as if on a phone call.  My

Assignment #19: Aaron Siskind:

Image
Mode: Manual, Iso: 400, SS: 1/50, F-stop: f/5.6, Lens: 35mm *I decided to throw the edited version of this image into Lightroom again to see if I could potentially make it better. Here's the redo: Mode: Manual, Iso: 400, SS: 1/20, F-stop: f/6.3, Lens: 200 mm My images and Siskind's share the color scheme of black and white. This allows for the details, texture, and objects to become distinct from the background and other objects in the scene. Also, the texture within Siskind's pieces inspired me to look for a composition with a contrasting texture. Lastly, an aspect that Siskind uses to enhance the depth of his work is lighting. Traditionally in his work the black and white colors are as harsh as possible creating an extreme contrast within the images, which I tried to portray through my editing.

Assignment #17: What color are you?

Image
I would say that I am pink because majority of the time/day I feel happy and fun. Also, to me pink is a soft, or nice, and feminine color, which I think I relate to because I consider myself to be nice, or softer, and feminine. I also chose flowers because I think that they brighten up people's lives, days, a room, or anything, and when I found pink hydrangeas I thought it was a perfect representation of me.

Assignment #16: "On Your Own" Proposal:

Proposal #1: Emotion: When I was shooting for my final last semester I had Jay Maisel who was a purist street photography. I was intrigued with the idea of a "candid" or a hidden camera aspect. Last semester I was attempting to be a street photographer, but for this project I would like to build on that with my end goal being a series that portrays emotion through street photography and portraits. I plan to, if needed, use Lightroom or Photoshop in order to accentuate an emotion that is in the image using color. For example, if the image portrayed a happy looking, feeling, or moving person I would use Lightroom to brighten up the yellow, green, and bluish tones in the image to make the emotion pop. Or if the emotion in the image was strong I think I would attempt to use black and white to show the rawness of the image and purity of emotion the subject is portraying. Proposal #2: Study of Nature: For my second idea I was interested in doing a close up study of na
