Assignment #2: What is HDR? Research portion:

The article that I used for the write up was:
  • What does HDR mean? How can you achieve HDR successfully?
    • HDR stands for high dynamic range. HDR takes the darkest dark aspects of a setting, by snapping a picture underexposed, along with the lightest light of the setting by taking the picture over exposed, and stitching the images together using photoshop. This techniques allows the final image to incorporate all dramatic aspects of the setting in the final image.
    • You can achieve HDR successfully by ensuring that your camera is still and in the same spot for all images. Also, the key is to have the blending software that allows for the images to be put together- taking the best parts of all for the final image.

  • This image, above, impresses me becuase the HDR has captured the blue hues, and gradient sky instead of blurring the shades together and dulling the image. This way the image is more prominent in its colors and shading.
